Kidepo National Park Rules

Kidepo Valley National Park Rules – Kidepo Valley National Park is in a remote part of North Eastern Uganda. It borders Kenya and South Sudan. The park covers 1,442 square kilometers and is home to 77 mammal species and 470 bird species.

Visitors can enjoy bird watching, game drives, and nature walks. The best time to visit is during the dry season from September to March.

The park gates open at 6:00 am and close at 7:00 pm. No entry or exit is allowed outside these times.

Here are the important rules to follow in the park:

  • Dogs and other pets are not allowed because they may fight with wild animals.
  • Do not litter. Trash can harm animals and the environment.
  • Stay inside your vehicle during game drives for your safety.
  • Do not honk your car horn to avoid disturbing the animals.
  • Drive no faster than 40 km per hour to avoid hitting animals.
  • Camp only in the designated camping areas.
  • Firearms are not allowed to keep everyone safe.
  • Avoid loud noises as they disturb the animals.
  • Do not pick any plants to protect nature.
  • Do not feed wild animals to keep them healthy.
  • Off-tracking, or driving off marked roads, is forbidden.
