There are not many hospitals around the park because the area is remote. If you need better medical care, go to Kampala, the capital of Uganda.
In the evening, wear long-sleeved shirts and trousers because mosquitoes are more active at that time, especially during the rainy season.
There is a lower risk of malaria during the dry season from September to March. Mosquitoes are fewer since many rivers in the park dry up.
You can also bring a first aid kit with malaria test tools as you plan your visit to Kidepo Valley National Park. Avoid mosquito bites at all times, wherever you are.
Pregnant women and babies are at higher risk of getting malaria. They should be extra careful by sleeping under treated mosquito nets and using insect repellent.
