Luxury Safari to Kidepo – Comfort & Wildlife in Uganda

Luxury Safaris to Kidepo

Luxury safaris to Kidepo are a good choice for people who want comfort and style while exploring the wildlife and the local tribes around the park.

The best time for a luxury safari is during the dry season from September to March. During this time, animals are easy to see because they gather in Narus Valley, which has water all year round.

You can get to the park by air. A chartered flight can be arranged from your lodge in Kampala to Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi airstrip, then fly to Apoka airstrip in Kidepo. For scheduled flights, departure is at 12:00pm and arrival is at 2:45pm.

A four-day safari is a good plan. On the first day, you fly to Kidepo and check in at a lodge like Apoka Safari Lodge, one of the top luxury options. After some rest, you can go for an evening game drive to see animals like lions, leopards, buffaloes, and more.

On the second day, enjoy breakfast at the lodge’s restaurant, then go bird watching. Bring binoculars and a camera. In the afternoon, visit the local communities to learn about the traditions of the Karamojong and the IK people. Look for the manyatta homesteads of the Karamojong. In the evening, you can relax at the lodge. There is a large swimming pool where you can cool off after a busy day.

On the third day, go for a guided nature walk in the morning. Watch out for animals and birds like zebras, antelopes, and ostriches. Lunch will be at the lodge, followed by a short rest. In the evening, you can enjoy one more game drive.

On the last day, wake up early to see the Kanangorok Hot Springs as the sun rises. This can be done before breakfast. Later, an airport shuttle will take you to Apoka airstrip at 3:00pm. You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi airstrip at 4:30pm.

A luxury safari to Kidepo is a great experience. It is comfortable and relaxing. Even from the balcony of your lodge, you can see wildlife and wide grasslands.
